In your opinion, if a man tells his gf he does NOT want to be a father and she assures him she's on the pill, but she still gets pregnant, does that man have to pay child support anyway?

Even on the pill, a woman can get pregnant. If she never misses a dose and never takes the wrong pill, she still has about a 1% chance of getting pregnant over a year's time, and a 10% chance (1-.99^10) of getting pregnant over 10 years. So they're both still gambling, and thus both assumed the associated risks and financial liability for the results. So, yes.

Now, if she tells him she's had her tubes tied or the like, and it's not true, then the law ought to absolve him of financial responsibility. (Some jurisdictions do, but some do not.)

But LEGAL obligations are one thing.

    MORAL obligations are another.

    It's still your kid!

Be a man and do what's right!
