I was caught shoplifiting at walmart yesterday. given an appearance ticket. they said more charges to follow am i going to jail i live in ny

You're reading Our local groc. store says that they lose $1000 a month by shoplifting. We as consumers have to pay for that. Do you think they should have harsher penalties for shoplifting?
