I swim about 5 times a week and it's starting to take a toll on my hair. Is there anything, besides a swimcap, that I can use to make my hair look shiny and healthy?

There are several moisturizing shampoos that can help to repair the hair, and some hair treatments can be applied before entering the pool. Your best bet is to consult a hair care professional, who can recommend a product based on your hair type and availability of products, as many of the better products for treating damaged hair can only be purchased in salons.

    This website (http://www.2hairstyles.com/protecthair.shtml)
also recommends a home remedy for chlorine-damaged hair, which sounds like it could work:

"Protect your hair before going in by applying a deep conditioner. Immediately after, rinse your hair in apple cider vinegar, then with club soda. The carbonation will lift excess salt and chlorine out."
