Can I copy a DVD movie that is more than 4.7 GB onto a single DVD? If so, how?

    You can indeed copy DVDs larger than the standard single-side, single-layer format onto a 4.7gb disc... There are various programmes around that will let you do this, some are free and the majority ask you for some money. However, in my opinion one of the best (and free!) programmes available to do this is DVDShrink. There's an EXCELLENT guide on how to use the programme at the (definitive) Doom9 site:

    Of course, for legality's sake, I must insist that you only use these tools to perform backups of DVDs you already own for security of purchase only, don't make copies of rented or borrowed films, because that's just naughty, and the movie industry will never stop whining about lost profits so long as they think people are depriving them of their well-deserved billions.
