Is it okay to give a baby gift basket that's for the mother instead of the child as a shower present? Do I need to get another present for the baby?

It is not only fine to give a gift basket that's for the mom-to-be, instead of the child as a baby shower present, it’s appreciated. I have been to many showers, and, while helping to clean up afterwards, many moms complain that they have gotten way too many baby clothes, toys, and stuffed animals. Most mothers appreciate someone not only remembering that they still exist, but those they are the ones carrying a ton of weight around for nine months.

A great idea for a baby shower gift is a gift certificate for a spa, or a massage. They can choose to use it either before or after they give birth. For a gift basket, getting anything to make the mom feel pretty, like lotions, perfumes, and makeup is always a good option

If you do feel like getting something for the baby, giving something small and cute, like a two dollar stuffed bear will suffice, and it will say, “I thought of both of you." The mom-to-be will be thrilled!

Finally, just be careful about the type of gift basket you give. Remember some moms to be are on special diets, so avoid food or wine gift baskets.

    Hope this Helps,
    Tiff
