Now why would you say anything? The place is crowded, why take the blame even if you DO deserve it, no one is going to die here ...hopefully. There is nothing to be gained from accepting the embarasment, what do you think people are going to say "...he stunk out the elevator, but at least he admitted to it, he's a stand up individual in my book, there goes an honorable human being!" come on, not a chance.

Sure, it may look as if soemone else had done it, but if that person didn't do it they shouldn't be TOO embarassed. If someone is bold enough to say "ARGHHH!!!! someone farted" you could calmly reply "well you know what they say '...the first one who smelt it dealt it!'" I know this may not be the most honorable way to handle this situation, but I think I could deal with the guilt easier than the embarassment! This is especially true if you know the people, such as at work. If you accept credit for the deed, this WILL be a story told around the water cooler, do you want to be known as "the farter" behind your back?

Don't accept credit, If someone points to you, deny it, they might THINK you did it, but they would never really KNOW, why relinquish that power? So don't do it, NO good can come from admitting to it ...trust me on this!
