ATP (Adenosine TriPhosphate) is the unit of energy currency most commonly used in the body cells. The molecule itself is made up of an amino acid and 3 phosphates. It is ususally generated inside the cell and releases it's energy by releasing a phosphate, converting the molecule to ADP (Adenosine DiPhosphate) until another phosphate is attached.
