Help answer this question below.

Are there any other crimes besides sexual offences in which someone would be required to register their name and address with the state/local govt? I think it would be rather helpful to know if a murderer, thief, felony DUI ..etc was living near me too.

    In California, narcotics offenders are required to register (Health & Safety Code section 11590) as well as convicted gang members (Penal Code 186.22). Those are not public databases, however - they're for law enforcement use only unlike the sex offender registry.
