I think that they have been improving greatly over the last twenty years. The inauguration of a black president is an historic event that has special significance in America.
The very founding of America relied on turning a blind eye on slavery. This ignorance of the slavery issue led to the Civil War, Jim Crow laws, migration of blacks from the southern states, and the civil rights movement. No other issue has caused so much turmoil in America. This inauguration is very significant and marks the first time where the majority of the American population feels that a black man is our best choice to lead us for the next four years.
