Why is "Be Yourself" so commonly used as advice for everything?

    Because you may come off as ill at ease or phoney, making the other person uncomfortable or suspiscious. If you try to be someone else, it kind of reinforces a lack of confidence in who you are- kinda like the real you doesnt measure up. confidence on oneself is evident in the way you look, walk, speak, dress. Its a much better easier way to be.
