Thank you! My cat has a set of colored catnip mice, and she always chooses the purple one before the others.

Thank you for both the Q & A! I have 2 cats, both over 18 years old. Knowing which colours are more stimulating to them will help me choose more appealing toys to help them stay active.

Do you think cats are scared of purple? Its the weirdest thing, but my cat used to go in my room all the time and sleep on my bed. I've since painted my room purple, and NOW my cat wont even step foot in the room. I'll put her on her favorite of my blankets and she'll run right out. Any ideas?????? lol

This doesn't make any biological sense, since cones are either red/green or blue/yellow. They can either see all of them, or only two of the four. If they can't see red, then they can't see green. If they can't see blue, then they can't see yellow. For example, dogs see everything in blue and yellow (like most people who are color "blind"). Purple is red and blue, therefore, if they can see purple, they can see everything. Black, white, and grey vision indicates a lack of cones in general. It's not a selective thing.
