Help answer this question below.

President-elect Obama did not watch Bush's speech live ; Obama went out to dinner just as Bush's remarks were beginning. What do you think about Obama not watching the Farewell speech?

    Who cares? Obama will make a good president - he's intelligent, well-spoken, he's ambitious and he gets things done - I don't understand why people are so opposed to him!
    I'm putting it down to skin colour until someone reveals the alleged skeletons in his closet...

    • Looked into it, Read the reports, and it's FULL of people just trying to give him a bad name - what people say about him is really transparent, with colourful vocabulary designed to exaggerate everything. If you're smart, you won't let that bother you.

    • Personally I think all politicians are "lesser evils" with their own personal agendas. It's a shame we HAVE to let these people make our decisions for us.

    • I disagree .. power corrupts - whoever gains that power will abuse it, so it's not so much a shame that corrupt people make our decisions for us, it's a necessity. If you look at some of the lower politicians, they became a politician to make changes for the better - with genuinely good intentions, but as they get promoted again and again they realise it is within their power to do other things too..

    • In the days of the wild west, everyone carried a 6 shooter at their side. The law was lax and so a man knew better than to run his mouth, and if he did, was fully aware that he will have to face the consequences.

    • Yup, but the Wild West wasn't a good time to live in. Crime was rife and money tended to collect in the banks (that were frequently robbed) of the 'bad' people.
      Often people decided to use those 6 shooters at the expense of everyone else.
      Humans are not naturally lawful people, so when you leave the governing to the people, you get chaos.
