Is student loan consolidation a better option than declaring bankruptcy if I can't pay my bills?

    Yes, because student loans cannot be written off in a personal bankruptcy. You can get a hardship deferment if you have a good reason. Otherwise consolidation is the most reasonable option.

    • yeah you got Slick Willey to thank for that one. He passed the law back in October of 98 making sdtudent loans non dischargable through bankruptcy
