I have had Clown Loaches for many years. Most of them do it just for some rest. Sometimes, they will even prop themselves against each other for a fish nap. They will often be active at night, so tend to rest more than other fish during the day.

Nice to see that you have them in a medium sized tank. Too many people put them in tiny tanks, and they can grow to about a foot! I have some in my 75 gallon, and they enjoy eating out of my hand.

Just to mention it, they do much better in groups of at the very least three. I would suggest you get another one.

They are more susceptible to Ick than other fish. Doing the recommended 25% weekly water change will help to prevent this and other health problems.

    Good luck.
