I guess I'm old fashion. I think it is better to be polite and send a short note saying you appreciate their interest but that you are currently interested in someone else. Most winks are unsolicited. That's what on line dating is all about. It doesn't pay to be rude to those that are showing an interest in you. Isn't that why you are there? If you are wanting to show etiquette, and manners, then being polite is the first step.
If you have politely declined these "winks" or "emails" and they continue to bug you with their attentions, you can always quietly block them. Its best to be kind and polite but it is not a prerequisite for online dating and dealing with online jerks. Just remember to be careful when dating people you meet over the web and be sure to go to a busy public place, preferrably a place where you are well known, if you plan to meet them.
Good luck in finding your perfect match. By the way, have you checked that single guy in your neigborhood? Sometimes what you seek is right beneath your nose.
