Question

Help answer this question below.

If you have a friend who is depressed & anxious alot, and SAYS they want help, but when they have the chance to get it for free they refuse it, what would you do? I know people must accept it to be helped. But it is sad. Just curious what you think?

It would seem they are not yet ready to deal with their problems. Some get stuck in a real rut and need to hit bottom before they really will accept help. Alcoholics and people who are depressed often do this.

I would let them alone and hope they do not waste too many more months or years before they are willing to confront their problems with professional help. I would avoid the temptation to push them at all, no matter how desperate they sound, unless they really are willing to go for help, free or not.
