Whats the difference between a bit and a byte?

    a bit is a binary digit which is the basic unit of informational storage
    a byte is a colletion of bits (pretty much just the plural of bit)

    • You should read your own link more carefully. A byte is definitely not "pretty much just the plural of bit".
