I like to think the half way apeman Ollie was real lol and ran off with the zoo keepers wife. that and the new york fire monkey if there was grippage!! apart from the the Ollie one cant really see any of the being plausible. though man are they good. monkey in space is true just not the way karl describes it lol!

with Karl's IQ i don't think he makes it up but i think he reads a story and then imagines it then takes what he imagines to be true.
