Why shouldn't they? Christmas did not start out as a Christion holiday. Santa, Christmas trees, presents, etc. really doesn't have a whole lot to do with God, after all.

Oh well, perhaps we will just celebrate the prior-to-christianity aspects of the winter solstice festivals - so that would be feasting, gift giving and tree-decorating. We just won't go to church. How about that?

Christmas means "Christ's Mass" and the modern holiday has always been about celebrating the birth of Christ. That's why people of other religions do not celebrate Christmas and why atheists should not either. They are only celebrating Santa and presents and a day off work!

So Christians shouldn't exchange gifts, decorate a tree or have feasts?
Christmas has also become embedded in Western culture - the whole thing runs deeper now that just jesus' birthday.
Nothing wrong with celebrating santa and the exchange of gifts and a day or two off work. No crime there.

Christmas is a plagiarism of Yule. When Christianity spread to the pagan western world, the people did not want to give up their festivities, so as is common with most expanding cultures it was incorporated and called Christ Mas. It has no relevance to Christianity at all, nothing relevant happened at this time in Christian history. If you want to say should and shouldn't be celebrating the JWs are right. Christians shouldn't be celebrating a pagan holiday.
