While I do believe there are supernatural forces that are beyond the comprehension of the average human mind, there are other phenomena that are reasonably explained. Ouija boards are in that category.

The planchettes (those triangular gadgets that you use to spell out letters or answers on the board) are somehow controlled by the conscious mind. This is not to say that a person deliberately moves them, but if one concentrates long enough, there will be a sudden surge of movement that propels the planchette toward the answer the participant is seeking.

Try it and see for yourself. "Ask" the board if so-and-so really loves you, or any other question that you feel you already know the answer to, and it will, in all probability, give you the correct response. By the same token, you can also spell out names. Sometimes a little common sense will tell you that an inanimate object, such as a Ouija board, can't possibly be an oracle that comes up with an answer. It is the operator of the board who consciously, but without realizing it, gives the answers.

If nothing else, Ouija boards make for an interesting parlor game, but beyond that, have no special occult powers. The same can be said for crystal balls, magic wands, good-luck charms, voodoo dolls, or any other such fetishes.
