Can you be a vegetarian and be on the Atkins diet?

    No. The atkins diet is mainly meat. It is impossible to be vegetarian and be on it.

    • The Atkins family owned about 20% of the cattle in the U.S.. If Dr. Atkins did not die of a heart attack he would tell you to use beef as your protein source.

    • Let me guess failed_stoic, your a vegetarian?
      A: Atkins didn't die of a heart attack, he died of a slip and fall
      B: His family didn't own 20% of the cattle in the U.S.
      C: He advocated eating mostly chicken, fish and healthy protein sources.

    • I can't believe that Atkins was licensed to practice medicine. I guess that because of him and other doctors whose medical practices are suspect is why the profession has lost much of its prestige in the last few decades.
