As a vocalist, I have performed in bars where there was a lot of cigarette smoke and my throat killed me the next day...it wasn't vocal strain either, just the effects of passive smoking. I cannot imagine what harm it is doing people who work there all the time. So, ban it. Otherwise, the lawsuits will follow and your bar will be sold from under you to pay for them.
