What are proteomics and genomics?

    proteomics is the study of the proteome as a whole, and genomics is the study of the genome as a whole.
    The proteome is the collection of all the proteins in the organism, their structure and function.
    The genome is the collection of all the genes in the orgainsm.

    So genome-sequencing comes under genomics, while gene-sequencing does not, as it is only concerned with one gene at a time.
