Alright, I'm going to attempt to make a coffee flavored cake. But, when I replace the hot water in the recipe (1cup is called for) How should the coffee be? regular? black?

would the 1 1/2 tsp dissolved in the 3 tsp replace the full cup of liquid its asking for?
