Well if you're feeling hungry all the time you need to eat more complex carbohydrates. If you eat things high in fibre you will stay feeling full longer. Also have to include sugars (fruits and veggies), carbs, and proteins as much as possible in all major meals. The body breaks them all down at different speeds and protein and carbs will keep you full longer. High fibre foods also help prevent things like colon cancer.

If you get really hungry, and feel like you're starving yourself, eat something. Eat a piece of fruit or a hand-full of almonds (yes, nuts have fat but things like almonds are also very good for you). You should be eating 5-6 small meals a day, so you shouldn't really have time to get hungry.

When you feel like you're starving yourself you are more likely to fail at dieting and over-eat when you can get food. You are also more likely to choose a bad snack, like a chocolate bar, instead of fruit because it's at hand and since you're so hungry you're craving to automatic sugar intake.
