• You don't know the half of it so stop making assumptions. I could care less if they get more attention, I am an active participant in class. They just think they out do everyone in class. Maybe you should go back to school and experience it.

• If you're giving your best in class, what do you care? It doesn't matter, in the grand scheme of things, whether or not they are suck ups or teachers pets. It matters if they are harassing and abusing you, in which case you have every right to be pissed, and you should tell an adult. Other than that, let it go. You will be dealing with people like this all your life, and you will only be miserable if you let things like this make you miserable.

• Everyone's got their place in society. I hated teacher's pets at school but never directly did anything about it other than backstab. Now that I'm in a work environment I can maturely see how the balance makes the team.
  
  But there are those who simply want to be that - a teachers pet. They are not interested in learning and forget everything after High School. They simply want to be told how good they are and how satisfied everyone is with them. It's something about parenting in my opinion. The more attention you get at home, and especially single kids, the more you want at school. And who's the "parent" at school? It's your teacher!
  So you learn and memorize whatever it takes to get the grades - to be elevated to this exemplary student at home and at school. This drive could continue throughout life and even lead to success.
  
  But that doesn't mean it's a pleasant life. Envy from others will eventually leave the teacher's pet a lonely fella.
