My 9 year old son would like to know how we know that God exists... I hope that you can explain this one better than I can! Thanks!

This is when you start the discussion of faith based conclusions. I, personally, cannot look around and NOT think something greater than us made it all. You tell him why you believe, and teach him to make is own conclusion through observation and deduction. And faith.
