You're reading Catholics, you consider babies as gifts from your god.Do you also consider the babies resulting from RAPE,as also a gift from your god. And the fact that you Catholics would make every RAPE BABY,be born is another disturbing part of your Catholic dogma.

To mysticdeliria,.,so you would make your 12 year old daughter have a baby that was concieved from a gang rape scenario, just to appease your male dominated catholic goddiness.
You would make her suffer that traumatic rape for the rest of her life by having to mother an unwanted child of rape.
I bet you wouldn't do it if you were raped and got pregnant from it.
And what about females who are completely disabled or mentally retarded rape victims, women in their 50's who end up raped and pregnant.
You suggest they all become mothers,do you?
Thousands of women end up suiciding over this.
Your answer is abhorrent catholic nonsense.

Very good answer Mysticderliria, +2, regardless of what Snooksie says.

Mystic: Excellent answer. I couldn't have articulated it any better.
.
Snooksie: You speak like there are no negative side effects to having an abortion. You don't think forcing a 12 year old to have an abortion is not traumatic as well? What if she decided to have the baby and then give it up for adoption? Or is that an unreasonable proposition? Life is sacred, no matter how it was conceived, and should therefore be protected.

Snooksie, I wouldn't make my 12 year old daughter do anything of the sort and it would be stupid to even talk about what I would do because I am soooo far from ever having a 12 yeard child. If you really read my answer you will notice that it does not condone or condemn abortion. You never even asked about my personal beliefs regarding abortions, and I find it rather disturbing that you would so irrationally jump to your very closed-minded conclusions.

Also Snooksie, maybe I can clarify my answer a little. I find it upsetting that the questioner labels children born of rape not gifts from God, and I find that heartbreaking from the child's perspective. For a child to not only be born without a decent father can be hard enough, but to then be told that because it was conceived in rape it is not the gift that other "legitimate" children are is really not going to make life easier for him or her. Notice that I didn't talk about children in the womb, I only discussed children that are born so I don't know how you jumped to your conclusions about my views on abortion.

Snooksie, let me turn this question to you. If your 12 year old daughter had a child resulting from a gang rape for whatever reason ended up keeping the baby, would you shun your grandchild and tell it that it is unwanted or would you love it anyway because it is a helpless, innocent child that has somehow found its way into your family?

BTW, thanks east hill and coexist for your comments!

to mysticdeliria are you willing to take all the unwanted rape/incest children that the mothers, who cant accept the child die to various understandable reason, want to abort? Will you be willing to take all those children and raise them after their birth so that they are not just ignored and abused by the parents that dont want them?

I know multiple people right here in my neighborhood who would LOVE to adopt children, but they can't because it is too difficult to get approved and expensive.
One of them flew all the way across the country to adopt a baby who was born with a cleft palette. It was easier to get him since not many people want a baby with a physical defect like that. I know another family that flew all the way to the Ukraine to get a child.
There are plenty of people out there to adopt these "unwanted" kids.
