How does laptop touchpads only work when you run your finger on it and not any other object or even your nail?

    Depends on the touchpad type but most operate on capacitance. Which is why your finger will work but not a nail or other foreign object.

I knew that already but gave a link so you could read a whole bunch more if you were interested. I guess I could just post my shitty opinion on here like most people do....but I don't think I'm gonna do that.

      It's not like they asked "Do you like bread"? That is subjective. This isn't. There's only one answer that's right. I'm sorry I'm right. Is that better?
