Ramsey Clark volunteered to represent Sadaam and Sadaam's legal team thought that it was a good idea.

Ramsey Clark is a former Secretary of State and a very severe critic of the U.S. Government. He made his offer because he believes that the U.S. is partly to blame for the Sadaam problem becasue we supported him in the Iran Iraq war and we have allowed him to do a number of things that we now find to be "distasteful."

The problem with dealing with any situation in that part of the world is that there is no right and wrong answer. The U.S. government appears to have backed the best despot available as opposed to doing the right thing (whatever that turns out to be).

Clark has a right to represent Sadaam and Sadaam and his legal team thought that it would be a good idea.
