I have wood floors. I'd like to reapply a coat of polyurethane. Do I have to re-strip my floor or can I just buff over the old polyurethane before applying?

Strip the old polyurethane off. It is a real job. Polyutherane is plastic infused so it will require special chemcials and alot of elbow grease. If you do not remove the old the new will penetrate at a different rate and you will splotches. Mr Bill

    • I've used chemicals to strip the floor of most of the poly but you wont get all of it that way.Thats when the sander comes in.

    • A sander will make the poly hot and the plastic will melt and when it resets you have big problems . Get the poly up first and any stain that is left then used the sander.
