How come black pride marches are considered "progressive", but a white pride march would be considered "racist"?

    As long as your "white pride parade" didn't encourage racism or thoughts of being superior and was simply about the culture you have. But as I'm sure you know, anything saying white pride is going to be "racist", because White Pride is typically said by those who are racist and narrow-minded. So if you do have a parade like that, and you aren't racist, dont be shocked if you see a bunch of racist walking around.

    Besides, there are "white pride" parade...more like nationality parades though (like a Scottish festival, German festival). What would make it "racist" is the whole "White Pride". But a Celtic, Scottish, German, italian festival would not be...and would not exclude any race.

    • You hit on a point that many people confuse when they discuss race. I have heard people proclaim their race as "Irish, Scottish, ETC,ETC. and I tell them that being Irish or Scottish is not a race, but a Nationality. Due to the way Blacks were bought into the US, there is no longer links to tribal units, however if they had been integrated like whites, you would have the same issue with blacks proclaiming tribal pride such as Bantu, Ashanti, Yoruba.
