abrasive toothepaste, i heard aquafresh (or something like that) is a good one, will reduce the size in pimples.

wash face and dry
apply toothepaste to pimple before bed
sleep with it on
wash it off in the morning and it should be gone
(i am pretty sure wikihow.com had an article on this but i couldn't find it, this is what i remember what the article said.)

i do not know for sure that it will reduce the redness....
