    Do you mean those check boxes on profile pages? They stay *left* from the text that they influence, which is
    "questions", "answers", "comments" or "ratings".
    If the check box is checked, a "X" is displayed.
    All boxes are checked in the default setting.
    Checking the box off takes that particular part from the display.

    For instance, on the "activity" page, you can display all four of them. If you check the "ratings" check box off, you won't display the ratings anymore.

    Remember that if you check those boxes off, they stay so and you won't get any more ratings displayed, for instance, even after you restart your browser.
