Religion vs. morals: who is the "better person"? the man who does something good simply because it seems like the right thing to do, or the man who does it because he is religious and doesn't want to go to hell? (or suffer other consequences)

    The first scenario, as they are doing good not for themselves, but for other people. In the second scenario, they are doing a good thing for themselves. True, the end result is similar, but...
