Since the PrintScreen function doesn't normally work for video captures, you're best bet is using a third-party screen recorder application, such as Snapshot or Bullent's Screen Recorder. These programs will run in the background, and whenever the hotkey is pressed (CTRL-S in Snapshot I believe) it will take a 'picture' of the screen. You can also use it to record pieces of video in AVI format (although my lawyer warns you to be sure to check if the video is copyrighted first or else the piracy police might come knocking at your door - as if they don't have better things to do).
Works best when watching videos full-screen, otherwise you will have to crop them to get rid of surrounding items such as desktop icons, other windows that may be open in the background, etc.
