If feminism is really about equality for all, why isn't it called egalitarianism?

    Because feminists don't care about men. It really isn't egalitarian at all, even though they claim it is.

    • To a point, I think you're right. Men are generally more concerned with getting what they want than playing nice and so the charitable interpretation is that feminists figure men can look out for themselves well enough. But also I think feminism is focused a particular aspect of equality. Equality could be broken into four types: no discrimination against men/women and no perks for men/women. As far as I can tell, feminism does try to make sure no discrimination happens against women - it just isn't at all concerned that women don't get perks for having a second X chromosome.
