read properly 'smoke related'
we all know smoking kills .

I get it, should we just charge everyone for any medical bills when they have some level of responsibility, how about sports people who get injurys? We are living in a society here i and let me assure you that i put more into the health system than i will ever need back, i want to look after the sick so our society can progress, get a clue, this is the real world, you just can't wave your magic wand and decide who is evil and deny them medical treatment, which is what you would ultimately be doing.

i agree we should to some extent be responsible for our acts .
we cannot expect the whole country to pay for our excesses.
but we can live with some all in the basket attitude but we should be responsible too . i hope for you that you continue put more in than you get out that shows your are in good health and that has no price , same for all of the others too.

If you want to make people responsible in this way then surely smoking must be banned, but the governments just love those taxes don't they, also it would just become a massive black market. It would be extremely difficult to monitor the system. It would be great if we all lived responsible productive lifestyles but we are human.

i agree not an easy problem but

Yes i think it is wrong to inflict someone else with cigarette smoke, especially kids, laws have just been passed here to ban smoking in cars with children.

surprising we need laws to teach parents what is good for their own kids . they should have know this instinctively
by sharpjwe on January 22nd, 2009
That is true, but unfortunately we have to be legislated to the hilter because of ignorant people.
