As I'm a long-time amateur magician, then almost any of the old greats, such as Robert-Houdin, Houdini, Levante, Dante, Thurston, Harry Blackstone Sr., Harry Blackstone Jr., Goldin, Kellar, to name but a few.

    • I saw Blackstone Sr. myself at Raquette Lake NY during the late forties or early fifties. He was great. Of course, I was a little tyke, but he sure fooled me. And the venue was a very small room in a lakeside hotel called the Antlers. You could get within feet of him.

    • I envy you! I did see Blackstone Jr. on stage in England once, but it wasn't his full show, just a short act, but he was very good, with an engaging personality, and his floating light bulb illusion was stunning.
