You're reading Do you think it is right that OBAMA is taking money away from the rich and giving it to the poor? Because i personally like helping people ,but i think that ppl who were lazy and didn't get a degree don't deserve it. ,but ppl who work deserve money.

while I respect your opinion on this matter, i would like to point out some glaring generalizations and assumptions that this question has brought to light.
1. the rich pay for social welfare in this country- Not true, if you earn money by investments (stocks), you actually don't pay any social security taxes, but since you have to file a tax return, you are eligible for social security.
2. education- 75% of all high school graduates will actually attend college, however 50% of them will drop out within 2 years, those who do stay normally will take 6 years to earn a 4 year degree, and about 2% of people that finish college actually work in the field of study, not to mention they will be about 40,000 in debt. (former Recruiter, so I had to research the stats for career day for the high schools I worked)
Fact is, most social welfare programs used are in fact paid for by the people that use them. unemployment, social security, medicare, are all paid for by working people, and used when these same people are out of work, or can no longer work, even the TANF (food stamps) is paid for by collection of child support payments to mothers that receive food stamps (the mom doesn't get the child support, the state keeps it to offset the cost of the food stamps)
This whole "Obama is taking our money" is just a political ploy by republicans to get re-elected into office. Sad part of it is this, the definition of insanity, is to do the same thing over and over (elect Republicans into office) and expect a different outcome (the 10 years prior to Obama that republicans controlled congress and had a republican president)
