Between November 1945 and 1949 the US held trials of captured Nazi leaders and figures. These trails were held in the South of Germany in a city called Nuremberg. They later became known as the "Nuremberg trials". Several well known nazi personas such as Hermann Goering (Commander of the Luftwaffe) and Julius Streicher (Chief editor of "der Sturmer", a nazi propaganda news paper were tried and convicted an Nuremberg).
