The legal age for children to be served alcohol in the home in the UK is 5 years old. It is an offence to serve an alcoholic beverage to anyone below the age of 5.

In pubs and and other licensed premises the minimum age for the purchase and consumption of alcohol is 18, however it is permitted for children over the age of 16 to be served alcohol in a restaurant if the child is accompanied by an adult and is having a meal.
