Help answer this question below.

I'm vegatarian and I think the lack of iorn I bad for me. I've been getting cravings for random food &eating WAY too much sugar recently so I've gained a couple kilos in the more recent months.. (vego for 2 yrs) I'm 16 if that makes a diff : supplements?

    top 8 iron containing vegetables for you:

    1. chick peas
    2. bran flakes
    3. spinach
    4. baked beans
    5. black treacle (never heard of it)
    6. muesli
    7. dried figs
    8. dried apricots

    other ones to try are:

    bolied egg, avocado, asparagus, broccoli, brown rice, peanut butter (cool)

    FOOD YOU SHOULD TRY CUT OUT (these reduce intake of iron in your body):

    1. banana
    2. yoghurt
    3. cows milk
    4. hard cheeses
    5. margarine/dairy spreads

    good luck (dont take supplements unless you have no choice - they are not the solution to your problems)
