    Oh yes...
When I tell people that I love the south, people just ASSUME i'm a white-trash/ red-neck/ what-ever BEFORE asking me why...

(I love the south due to the weather, by the way.)

Dispite the times...some people will STILL have a racist myth imprinted on their brains.....so sad.

I am originally from GA, but lived most of my life in Wisconsin. I am very proud of many parts of being a southerner, but it does suck that everyone thinks that we are all members of the KKK, and that my family used to own slaves. (for the record, my family were poor share croppers and couldn't afford shoes much less slaves).
and I have found more racism in the north than in the south. it is just more public in the south, where in the north it is much more hidden.
