You're reading Are people born with pedophilic tendencies, or do they pick it up in the environment they grow up in?

1. You didn't answer the question.
2. I've studied about them lately, but I couldn't find whether they were born with it, or picked it up in the environment.
3. I was -almost- a victim when I was 13. I plan on telling about how I escaped, but will save that for another time.

To answer your question, I think that people are a product of their environment. You will usually find that the abused become the abusers. This is not always the case, but in most instances it is. They have to know before they reach adulthood that what was done to them was not normal and was not their fault, and only then do they have a chance of not becoming the abuser. Im very happy that you escaped. I wish you the best of luck.
