I would just like to throw a couple more points into this debate. There is no statement anywhere except in the minds of those who doubt Jesus was perfect.
The Bible says that all men are concieved in sin, when born of a man and woman. If Jesus had fathered children this would have to mean that he had committed sin, would it not? I know the Bible says the marriage bed is undefiled, but if He had fathered children, they would have inherited the sin curse from the mother, right? And also, since He was in fact a man and a God at the same time, would His blood not have been tainted by the act of siring a child? Then He would have helped propegate the curse of sin on another generation. I don't believe He would have done that.
I think this whole debate is an attempt to prove Jesus was not who He claimed to be. That is an old, old tactic, and can only come from one place.
All trees bear fruit of their own kind. A fig tree cannot produce diamonds. Only one time in history has a mother who was a sinner able to produce a child who was not. That took direct intervention by God the Father to accomplish. He has only done that with Mary and Jesus. If God had done that more than once, then there would be an entire race by now of miracle working, dead reviving, walking ,talking, Gods running all around the earth right now. Since there are not, I am gonna say that when Job asks the rhetorical question about what can be born clean of a woman, he was talking about normal humans. Since there is only one God, I am gonna say that old Job was right, there can be none. Only with God's Grace can any man be seen as clean, and then only after Jesus' blood has been applied to the soul of said sinner, or in other words, direct intervention from God. Now you might say that if Jesus could have fathered children, would He not have covered them in His blood at birth? That would likely be true, but then where are all the miracle workers who would be descended from Him? Certainly He does not begin a work and not complete it. Would His children not survive, and even prosper in this world, and He'd make sure of it?
You accuse me of twisting scripture, but who is really doing that? Is it me or the person who wants to take a Holy, Spotless, Perfect Lamb of God , and bring him down to the level of ordinary men. The Bible says that Jesus ascended into Heaven and is still there today. He did not stick around the earth long enough to sire children. Or are you trying to say He did that before He died, and thus committed a sin beforehand. That would have made Him imperfect just like the rest of us. At the beginning of every marriage is a spark of lust. You must be at least a little attracted to your prospective spouse, or why would you even pay them attention, let alone ask them to marry you. That amounts to lust for the flesh. By even thinking He had children, let alone married a woman, you are committing blasphemy. HE IS GOD! He is perfect and sinless and worthy of worship. No man born of human parents is.
Yes, marriage is ordained by God for us mortal men and women who are incomplete in ourselves. God made Eve for Adam because he needed a helpmeet, and companion. Jesus was perfect in Himself and had no need for such. You are correct in that marriage is honorable in all for us imperfect mortal men who were tainted from birth with the curse of sin, inherited from our original parents, Adam and Eve. For a man who was born without sin and never entered into it in any way, marriage would not be necessary for HIM. He did not need spiritual completion, He already had it. He did not need a companion, He had the constant attention of God the Father, and except for one instance God was with Him always. The one instance was just before He died on the cross, when the sky turned black, and Jesus cried those words of despair. He was no mortal man, and had no need for marriage, and something as important as children would be in the Bible, if He had them. Since they are not, he did not. There is now nor has there ever been any credible evidence that Jesus married anyone let alone had children. There is today a blaspheemer, who is making millions on a fairy tale. If you believe his story, you need to dig into a Bible, because it is a contradiction from the first words of the book. God is not the author of confusion, that would be Satan. If there is confusion in any situation, then that proves who is influencing events. This idiocy is proof of who started it, and it was not God. Contradictions to the Bible do not come from God.

Nothing the least bit sinful about sex or childbearing within marriage. This answer twists scripture to assert otherwise.

Good answer... not sure I would go as far as to say that lust comes before truly loving someone

Correct! Jesus never had children--wouldn't have any reason to.

Having children would not have caused him to commit sin, or have made him in any way imperfect. Marriage is ordained of God!!

Failing to marry and have children (thus disobeying the standing commandment to “be fruitful and multiply”) would be more sinful than marrying and having children. If we are to assuming anything about whether…

…Jesus married or had children based on the need for him to be perfect and sinless, then it makes more sense to suppose that he did marry and have children.

I personally would like to thank you for sharing your thoughts and research on the bible and Jesus. There has been alot of people speaking of this subject. I believe in the bible and what I was taught it is so relieving to see it in black and white by someone who has studied the bible and can explain it so clearly.
Would you mind if I'd have any questions about the bible that I could ask you openly?
My email is MysticaIWoIfe73@aol.com I'd love to hear from you and discuss other topics that have been on my mind.
Thank you in advance for just taking time to read this post.
