My MP3 player has a lithium ion battery - is it better to let it drain before charging or can I just charge it whenever?

    According to Battery University dot com:

    "A lithium-ion battery provides 300-500 discharge/charge cycles. The battery prefers a partial rather than a full discharge. Frequent full discharges should be avoided when possible. Instead, charge the battery more often or use a larger battery. There is no concern of memory when applying unscheduled charges."

    B.U. goes on to say that the built-in "fuel gauge" provided with certain Lith Ion batteries may become inaccurate over time if the user repeatedly recharges a fully charged batery.
