Help answer this question below.
I don't think it's a good idea, but I'm not surprised. I can't tell you the number of people who come into my office asking for "the little yellow pill" or "the big red one with white letters." Then they get upset with me when I don't know what they're talking about. :-)
I got a lil white pill that has L484 on 1 side of it, what is it?

You're reading Is anyone else as astounded as I am that this category even exists?
Comments
Yeah, I guess I should tone back on the "astounded" part. I'm still somewhat flabbergasted, though.
The category almost seems to invite litigation though, doesn't it? I mean, if you or I in the capacity of anonymous Internet ignoramuses give bad advice about someone else's found drug, what can anyone do about it? But if I were a deep pockets website owner providing a forum and a named category for us to do that in and archiving the messages ... I'd want to be sure as the site owner that my liability umbrella insurance policy was always paid up.

The "what's this pill" questions used to be a constant subject of debate on Answerbag when I started (late 2006). Everybody was speculating about who these people were and what made them tick. It seems like that chatter died down when someone suggested that it was mostly parents finding strange pills in their teens' things, and wondering what they were facing.
I kind of miss that argument. It's just such a catalyst for world-class wit and speculation.
