Is it ok to spank a child for hitting someone?

    First you would have to answer a more general question: Is it OK to spank a child?

    The offense of the child is irrelevant if you don't believe in spanking. Personally, I believe that violence begets violence. I wasn't spanked as a child and I don't believe in spankings.

    Does spanking work? Sometimes... but there are more constructive ways to discipline a child than using your hands or a belt to cause them physical pain.

    So, I guess my general answer would be No, it's not OK.
