You're reading What do you think about the woman sentenced to 15 yrs in prison for the dog mauling in San Francisco? here's the article: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/09/22/BA9K132L18.DTL

we have to have pitbulls muzzled here after so many "he was the nicest dog" attacks. But, I still don't necessarily agree with the muzzles. It's the damn owners. The article didn't even touch on the fact that they were harbouring the dogs for an incarcerated neo-Nazi who they adopted (weird, he was like 30) when he left prison. She got what she deserved, in my opinion.

When you look at dog bite statistics, certain breeds tend to come up more often than others. Pit bulls being one of those breeds. Are you suggesting this is just coincidence?

I must tell you that small breeds such as yorkshires and poodles are the ones who bite the most but, of course, a powerful breed such as pitbulls cause much more harm when they bite so it quickly appears on the news and people only hear about those dogs.
Don't forget that Pitbulls are not robots or weapons, they are simply dogs like any other breed and they must be trained and taught just like any other dog should be. It is not the dog's fault if the owner teaches him to attack people. You should hate the human that is behind the "dangerous dog" and have pitty for the animal who is just obeying and being faithful to his owner

The problem is that you forget they are animals with an animal instinct. There are many responsible pitt bull owners who have had their dog attack for seemingly no reason. You can give a dog as much love and attention you want, but at the end of the day they are still animals with animal instincts.
